This site has been created to allow friends and family to explore my experience of Publishing my first book. After years of prodding by my well meaning family, I finally caved and sent my manuscript in for consideration of publication, more just to get them all off my back than anything else. Trust me no one was more surprised than myself when I got two responses back of publishers interested in publishing my book. Unfortunately one was a vanity press, and I chose not to go with them, I might be vain, but not to the tune of $14,000 for them to allow me to use their publication facility. Within a couple of days from turning down that offer, I was accepted by Publish America. Much better offer, no money out of pocket, just needed to clean up the manuscript a bit, commit to a seven year contract and agree to do some advertising and book signings. No problem! I sent back the signed contract and my book has gone to print and is now available through several on line book stores. Official release date Nov. 27, 2006.
When I turn the pages in my book of life, a new and unexpected hero arises, my daughter, as she becomes a mother herself. Quoteable quote by Wanita Coy

Forget the stories you’ve heard about the joys of raising children, and read the true accounts of Wanita Coy’s ‘Upside Over’. A delightful, somewhat humorous recollection of the trials of parenthood, every parent can relate to.
“Been there, done that, and I know where you’re coming from,” is what most parents will say while reading this book. A highly recommended reading for parents who may think they’re alone in their trials, or parent’s to be who believe their jobs will be an easy task.

PublishAmerica Presents Upside Over By Wanita Coy
Frederick, MD September 28, 2006 -- PublishAmerica is proud to present Upside Over by Wanita Coy of Elko, Nevada. Upside Over is a humorous look at how having children completely changed the author’s life upon the discovery that babies do not come with instruction manuals. Coy’s husband’s point of view is well depicted as his wife is transformed from a hot and witty playmate to an overwhelmed and often cranky mother. It’s about surviving the parent game, learning that with a sense of humor a family can survive and become stronger, through the laughter and tears, through good times and bad as we take a step closer to insanity or just learn to accept reality. It reveals our coming to the understanding that for every time there is a season, and if we embrace life then we must learn to embrace death by learning to let go and say goodbye to loved ones. Wanita Coy has been a public speaker and trainer for non-profit groups and specialized in: self-esteem, dealing with difficult personalities, diversity, outdoor survival skills, and sensitive issues. She’s worked in sales, public relations, personnel management, and Social Services. She is a wife and mother to four children. PublishAmerica is the home of 20,000 talented authors. PublishAmerica is a traditional publishing company whose primary goal is to encourage and promote the works of new, previously undiscovered writers. Like more mainstream publishers, PublishAmerica pays its authors advances and royalties, makes its books available in both the United States and Europe through all bookstores, and never charges any fees for its services. PublishAmerica offers a distinctly personal, supportive alternative to vanity presses and less accessible publishers.
